Time to sort the friends list.+Daily updates [Nov. 6th, 2003|07:17 pm]

Okay. Time to be a little ruthless.....

Had a look at my friends list yesterday and it's ridiculously huge. I mean RIDICULOUSLY huge.

I have also decided to make my journal 'friends only', for a few reasons:
An embarrasing incident invloving an old freind's mum reading my LJ (not good).
Constant bitching about work (which could get me fired if found out).
And, bluntly, only friends being able to read my personal musings.

I'll make the journal friends only next Monday, tied in with sorting out my friends list. Whilst there will be obvious people who remain on forever I'd appreciate it if you could leave a comment if you'd like to stay listed.

Hope you all understand and that it's nothing personal. There's just not enough time in the world!

Had a lovely e-mail from Laura at www.hometapingiskillingmusic.com today. Laura is one half of www.automaton-clubwear.co.uk whom I met, along with the other half of automaton Sarah, when I had my space-manga outfit commisioned (see user pic).
Laura and Sarah are absolutely lovely, we both share common interests in gnarly guitar music, electro-synth-pop, and space imagery and its history.

Anyhow. Gave Laura a copy of the Afraid of the Dark/Eight Six split 7" http://www.btinternet.com/~andrewjenkins/happyastronaut/aotd86split.html
I engineered and produced just before I left Nottingham. Turns out Laura's been DJ'ing it at Home-Taping! She also commented me on how good the 7" sounded. Man was I beaming!

Another two good friends have split up recently, which is upsetting. As ever I'm there for them all, and just find it a shame when a collective energy sems to fizzle out. Sometimes I'm thankful I'm not in a relationship. Then the hormones kick back in and I'm back on the Lady hunt!

Hmmmmm. Am seriously considering going back to Nottingham this weekend.
It's Home Taping, Nightmare, and-dammit, I just wanna see some old friends and have fun.

Most of all I want to crank up the Landy and aim for the hills of Derbyshire.
London's great, in time and with success it will be my ultimate home I'm sure. But for now, only being moderatly successful, and hideously poor (relatively speaking) it's downsides can be somewhat griping over periods of time.
As a result, I desire the thrill of piloting a V8 thrill-machine for the weekend, visiting nearest and deerest and re-discovering my roots. It is no understatement to say that Nottingham, and my close friends there made me. And I miss them.
